We proudly introduce our very first issue of MAG BORACAY on 26 October 2023, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the reopening of Boracay Island. As many of you remember, this momentous event signified a rebirth for theisland's residents after enduring a six-month closure that left many disoriented.
MAG BORACAY is a creation of SPMI, an experienced player in the publishing industry. They have a solid track record with successful community magazines like POB 1210 (The Magazine for Poblacion Makati) and MAG SUGARLANDIA (The Magazine for the Sugar Bowl of the Philippines) in their portfolio. On top of
that, they've produced a remarkable coffee table book titled Sugar and Smiles: The Negrense Legacy Beyond 2020, which recently earned them two prestigious awards in Toronto and Bali, showcasing their talent in storytelling.
A quarterly magazine that captures the vibrant life of the Beach Capital of the Philippines through the words of local writers and the artistic skills of Aklan-based illustrators, MAG BORACAY aims to find the sweet spot between informality and structure, offering a fresh perspective on island living.
